- In 1952, the Harlem Globetrotters basketball team made the 1949 Brother Bones version their official theme song.
- The 1962 cover by Tony Sheridan features The Beatles as the backing band, who also recorded “Swanee River” in the same session.
- Roberta Flack recorded the song in 1994, but with newly added lyrics to portray the character as “strong, sexy, and intelligent” rather than just an object of desire.
